Moduino X Series

NPE X2 is a lightweight, but powerful energy-efficient and fully capable automation controller series. X2 is an industrial computer for remote data control and management, equipped with latest ESP32 compute module, wide range of serial, digital and analog inputs/outputs and wireless communication interfaces.

This cost effective solution is perfect for end-point devices. NPE X2 is powered by ultra-low power Dual-Core Tensilica LX6 240 MHz processor with 4MB pSRAM* and 4MB SPI flash memory on-board. Integrated Wi-Fi/BLE modem and extra wireline/wireless interfaces make the NPE X2 micro-computer a versatile addition to Industrial IoT solutions offered by TECHBASE company.

NPE X1 protocols

NPE X2 devices can easily work remotely with existing NPE X500 gateway for data accumulation and monitoring, to perform specific actions before sending the data to cloud services. The X2 - X500 installation can work as standalone Ecosystem (for example via MQTT), providing fog-computing to any installation.

SOFTWARE & OS

Use of ESP32-WROVER compute module adds the support for real-time operating systems (compared to most Raspberry Pi based Linux and Windows OS versions), and openness of the Espressif’s platform to NPE X2 industrial automation controller. Thanks to enormous community of ESP32 and Arduino users and developers, the NPE X2 can now adapt existing software solutions, tools and programming environments, for example:

  • ESP-IDF (Espressif IoT Development Framework)
  • Zephyr Project (scalable RTOS)
  • Arduino (C++)
  • MicroPython
  • Mongoose OS
  • etc.

END-POINT SENSORS

The NPE X2 device is a comprehensive end-point controller for variety of sensors located throughout any installation. It fully supports temperature and humidity sensors and new ones are currently developed, e.g. accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, etc.

Data logger

NPE X2 computer offers you huge opportunities of registering and data access, using built-in input/output interfaces and communication channels, such as:

Embedded Computer

The design of the NPE X2 allows for trouble-free operation in industrial conditions. It has a fanless case and is characterised by high resistance to external conditions and high reliability.

Telemetry module

NPE X2 is a multichannel telemetry module, providing constant uninterrupted access to data. It enables you to save the results of measurements and parameter values of connected devices - data can be saved to internal memory. You can also save data to internal and external databases.

NPE X2 can generate alarm signals and provide information on current parameter values. Built-in Wi-Fi / Bluetooth modem and optional LoRa / NarrowBand-IoT (LTE-NB1) / Sigfox modems enable wireless communication.

PLC

NPE X2 can operate as a typical PLC. The telemetry module can be programmed in ladder logic, which is easy to configure and allows for a quick start of an installation. NPE X2 is a stable central or end-point unit of an automation system.

Industrial modem and LoRa/NarrowBand-IoT/Sigfox router

With a built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modem, NPE X2 offers advanced functions and can be configured as an industrial modem and a router operating in LoRa / NarrowBand-IoT (LTE-NB1) / Sigfox network. You can easily get a backup connection mode and define routing. NarrowBand-IoT (LTE-NB1) technology provides higher speed and lower latency at packet data transmission.

NarrowBand-IoT (LTE-NB1) Notify module

With a built-in NarrowBand-IoT (LTE-NB1) modem, the NPE X2 industrial computer can operate as a notify module: it can send alerts when defined parameter values are exceeded (e.g. temperature, pressure, humidity, etc.).

You can easily and quickly configure the content of a message which is send instantly when the value is exceeded.

System supervisor will immediately receive SMS or e-mail notification
